About this event

We invite you to join us as we move, pray, rest, craft, and play together in person at Camp Washington where we will eat delicious food, breathe fresh air, and gather together as colleagues.

The day will begin with prayer, close in Eucharist, and include a balance between individual choice/re-creation and organized small group options, including . . .

  • Regathering with old friends, meeting some new friends!
  • Soaking up the sun at the waterfront, swimming, reading, or bringing your fishing gear and seeing what you can catch (and release)
  • Creating teams to play volleyball, bocce or croquet!
  • Joining in board games, puzzles, or classic summer camp crafts.
  • Hiking the trails, working out in the fitness center, or reading a book on the porch or under a tree
  • Enjoying a guided tour of Camp Washington and discovering all that this ECCT treasure has to offer
  • Booking a massage, or enjoying a Paint n’ Sip session with a cup of coffee or tea, and an instructor.
  • Breathing deeply

Outline of day:

9:00 am Registration (coffee and pastries available) on the Front Porch

9:45 am Opening Prayers in the Pavilion

10:00 am– Noon Morning Activity Block

Self-Directed Activities:

• Quiet space available for reading etc.: Gazebo and Trinity Room

• Swimming, canoeing, fishing at the Waterfront

• Puzzles and board games in the Dining Hall or Pavillion

• Self-directed walk/hike (trail maps available)

• Pick-up volleyball game, horseshoes at the Play Area

• Digging in the dirt/gardening at the White House/Greenhouse

• Conversations with colleagues-wherever 2 or 3 are gathered

Facilitated Activities:

• Tour of Camp Washington: 9:45 AM - on White House back porch

• Croquet game: 10 AM - between Porch and Kenyon Hall

• Paint n’ Sip: 10 AM - Kenyon Hall (pre-registration required)

Noon Lunch served in the Pavilion: Indoor and outdoor dining spaces

1 PM Afternoon Activity Block (snacks/soda/water available in Dining Hall)

Self-Directed Activities (see Morning Activity Block above)

Facilitated Activities

 • Guided hike: 1:15 PM - meet on White House back porch

• Tour of Camp Washington

2:30 PM Blessing of the Trees and Closing Eucharist

Registration Cost: $15

Optional additional costs:

  • Paint n’ Sip (Limit of 30) $20
  • Overnight stay at Camp Washington June 13 or 14 (single occupancy in the Main Building max 19 people) $120 (please contact Diane at camp datwood@episcopalct.org or 860-567-9623 to arrange for this)
  • Dinner for those wanting to stay beyond day’s end June 14 (10 person minimum) $30.00 or on June 16 if there are enough folks staying over . (please contact Diane at camp datwood@episcopalct.org or 860-567-9623 to arrange for this)

The Episcopal Church in Connecticut (ECCT) (aka the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut) is the collective witness and presence of 168 churches and other communities and institutions of the Episcopal Church in places across the state. It is overseen by the Rt. Rev. Jeffrey W. Mello, assisted by the Rt. Rev. Laura J. Ahrens. The common meeting space and offices for the bishops and church-wide staff are at The Commons, 290 Pratt Street, Meriden CT. Multiple staff use eventbrite for event registration.
